Glentrothy Old Stables was, as its name suggests, a former stable building for the estate, so that the stable doors opening out from the kitchen and the bedroom give a nod to its origins.Generous French doors lead outside from the sitting-room, lending a real feel of indoor/outdoor living in the summer, with a table and chairs right outside to take advantage of the all-day sunshine.
In the winter, snuggle up in front of the wood burner and enjoy the stylish and comfortably furnished cottage (the log supply can be replenished from the huge pile in the old Dutch Barn opposite the cottage).
Lovely antiques and fabrics, generous sofas, colourful posters, all give an extra dimension to this simple building. It comes as no surprise that one of the owners is a well-travelled interior decorator.

Location
Access and Connectivity
The Estate has good access, being close to the M4 and M50 and is close to Abergavenny and Newport Railway stations, giving easy access to the North, Crewe and Manchester, and South to Cardiff. Newport provides good access to London and the East, via Bristol.
The Estate has excellent Broadband and has entered into a partnership with Broadway Partners to make connectivity even better.
Facilities
There are excellent schools in and around the area including in Abergavenny, Monmouth, Hereford and Brecon.
The schools include Monmouth Haberdashers School, Hereford Cathedral and Christ College, Brecon.
Locally
There are several local public houses, inns and restaurants which we highly recommend. The Clytha Arms, The Cripple Creek and The Walnut Tree all offer home cooked food and excellent bar and hotel facilities.
Diversity
The Estate has approx. 4000 acres and is the home of over 100 residential properties, 5 farms 2 of which are dairy. Commercial properties available for caravan storage, workshops etc....Woodlands and forests, public footpaths and bridal ways, fishing and we have a shoot season every Autumn/Winter on the Estate. There is a private Doctor's surgery, Village Hall and sports pavilion with football and cricket grounds.
